Encore – House Music Classic concert – great success
Sunday 26 June saw the latest concert in encore’s new House Music Classics series with the String Ensemble playing in front of an invited audience. The event was hosted by Louise and Jamie Arnell in their home in Brunswick Square, one of only three houses in the Square not turned into apartments. Save the Date - Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra's Open Rehearsal for Schoolchildren
BPO are pleased to announce that the next open rehearsal for schoolchildren will take place on Sunday 5 March 2017 at Brighton Dome Concert Hall.
In workshops leading up to the rehearsal, there will a be focus on George Enescu's Romanian Rhapsody No.1, a wonderful piece of music inspired by the vivid folk tunes of the composer's home country. They are delighted that the conductor will be Cristian Mandeal, a fellow Romanian and acknowledged authority on Enescu's music.

Event: Percussion Ensemble
BHYPE are thrilled to be invited to perform at the Royal College of Music at their annual Percussion Festival. The festival takes place on Sunday 10 July and the talented group of 8 percussionists are really looking forward to showcasing their work. Dave Weckl, voted one of the top drummers of all time, is the special guest at the festival and BHYPE can’t wait to hear him play following their own performance! The Great Escape Festival
The Great Escape (TGE) returned to Brighton in May and showcased 450 emerging artists from all over the world. SoundCity has developed a close partnership with TGE in recent years which has enabled young local talent to showcase their work. This year three acts that took part in our annual Sounds from the City event were lucky enough to be invited to take part in the TGE Street Party. BHMA Schools Christmas Concert – save the date
Planning for the 2016 Schools Christmas concert is well underway – we hope you will already have the date of this BHMA annual event held at the Brighton Centre in your diaries – Monday 5th December, 7pm. Celebrating Arts for Infants!
On 14 and 15 June, three vocal teachers from BHMA led singing workshops for reception children as part of two Arts Enrichment Days at the Brighton Dome. 10 schools from the city centre cluster were involved and over 450 children aged 4-5 took part in music, dance, puppet-making, art, mask-making, museum and venue visits as the Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton Dome and SoundCity came together with schools to celebrate the wealth of arts, cultural and heritage experiences Bri

Belltree Music Therapy are organising a Safeguarding Level 3 training day on Saturday 10 September 2016 9.30 till 4.30pm. Big Brass Event
Well done to all performers who played in BHMA’s third BIG BRASS EVENT on Saturday 18 June. It was an impressive musical achievement by all the players, and a real celebration of brass playing. The BHMA Brass Team (Richard Baker, Sarah Leeves and Eira Owen) created the first BIG BRASS EVENT together in 2008, feeling that a focus and showcase was needed for the great brass talent we have learning across the city.
